Dans ce numéro du Point, je vous transmets des informations* sur les futures modifications proposées par le gouvernement fédéral au Régime de pensions du Canada (RPC).  En effet, les membres de notre collectivité doivent non seulement en être avisés mais encore en connaître l’application puisque ce régime est un élément clé du système de sécurité du revenu.

Les ministres fédéraux et provinciaux des Finances revoient le RPC tous les trois ans.

In this Update, I am sharing some information* from the Government of Canada about proposed future changes to the Canada Pension Plan (CPP). As the CPP is a key component of the income security system, it is important for community members to be informed about how it will be evolving.

The federal and provincial Ministers of Finance review the CPP every three years.

Malis est conseiller financier à Toronto pour les personnes handicapées et leurs familles.

The Alliance for an Inclusive and Accessible Canada will be hosting the next #AllianceChat  in the series on Wednesday, December 20th, from  4:00 pm until 5:00 pm EST. The topic of discussion will be the Registered Disability Savings Plan. Mr. Ron Malis is the special guest for the event.  Mr. Malis is a financial advisor based out of Toronto who serves people with disabilities and their families.

December 10th is designated as International Human Rights Day, and I thought it would be a good time to update on where civil society is at with regard to the upcoming United Nations Universal Periodic Review. These past couple of years have been busy times for those of us who work towards full implementation of international human rights treaties! Between 2015 and 2017, Canada submitted reports to a number of the UN Committees and their related Conventions.

The Alliance is very happy to be hosting its third Twitter chat this Wednesday, December 6th from 4:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. E.S.T. Dr. Michael J. Prince is our special guest for the hour-long chat! Dr. Prince is the Lansdowne professor of Social Policy at the University of Victoria and a disability rights advocate!
